Sandy’s talent was apparent when she appeared in high school and college productions. At Wesleyan in 1955, she was cast as Emily Webb in Our Town.

Sandy returned to Lincoln in 1963 to help with a fundraiser for her former sorority at Wesleyan, Willard. That night, Sandy spent a good amount of time greeting admirers, while her mother, Yvonne, tended to Sandy’s dog. Sandy appeared at the event with good friend Ron Hull, and together they visited with audience members, sorority sisters, and with Wesleyan president, Vance Rogers.

This photo of Sandy with Tennessee Williams was taken when Sandy performed Eccentricities of a Nightingale at the Long Beach Auditorium in March of 1980. Sandy’s longtime friend, Ruby, met Sandy, Tennessee, and his friend after the performance. After this, the group went to a restaurant owned by Carroll O’Connor, where quite a gathering was waiting for them.
